The feeling of complete peace, standing on your own property without being able to see or hear another soul, knowing “I own this” is amazing. That complete tranquility on this property is difficult to convey through words, but I can say from having been on the property that it is truly something to experience.
This property is located in Simpson’s Mountain, just North of the Georgia/North Carolina border. The property itself is in North Carolina, but Georgia is literally a few hundred feet away. If you’re wanting a place where you’re going to build a luxury home right away, I recommend finding something else. But if you want a really really good price on an investment property that you can camp on, then hey – this is for you.
The subdivision was platted several decades ago, and the front portion of the neighborhood has several houses. A well maintained gravel road starts from the highway and takes you back to the last house. Once you get to the last house that has been built, the gravel road ends and a new non-gravel path begins. You can see this in the pictures I’ve taken below. This path has been cleared, but is not a maintained road. You’ll take this 1/4 mile to get to the property. I didn’t drive the path since when I was there it had rained for 3 straight days prior, but when dry I would have no qualms if I had a 4WD about driving the path.
The best part? There is literally not another soul along that quarter mile stretch. If you want to get away and spend time with nature in the forest, this is it. Some day they may run electricity and develop the area, but for now, it’s just an empty path heading back to your place of peace.
You can call Cherokee County’s zoning division for more details if you have specific questions on what you can do with the property. From my understanding, they have no problem with short term camping on the property. Note that the property can not have a mobile home or RV there permanently. I’d recommend this only for people wanting to camp from time to time, and/or someone wanting to hold an investment. And to my point on the investment, do yourself a favor and go to Zillow, search for Cherokee County, NC, and filter for land for sale that is over 1 acre in size. You won’t find a property there that touches this price. You’ve got instant value immediately after purchasing at this price.
Make sure to check out the pictures and video to try and get a sense for what this property is like. I’ve also included a little map where I’ve higlighted the path to take to get back to the property. If you look at the Google satellite images, it’ll look like this property is landlocked in the middle of a forest because the trees cover up the path that goes back to the property.
As always, just ask if you have any questions. This is a great property for the right type of person! Give me a call or send an email if you think you’re the right fit for this property.
